Since there is no Easter Sunday thread…

Church of the Assumption Nashville Easter 2026:

Propers, Missa Regina Caeli (4vv) of Palestrina with the motet, Rein Pascha Nostrum, Credo III, Regina Caeli, plus 438 people singing Jesus Christ is Risen Today without organ and with two verses in parts.

I told the choir « they’ll confuse us for Episcopalians! »

Vespers: Chant, Rein Haec dies, Magnificat tertii toni of Lassus, solemn Benedicamus as provided in the Vatican Edition for the days of double rite in the octave, chant O Salutaris in mode 8, Tantum ergo taken from the Genitori of the Pange lingua more Hispano, Divine Praises to the Maredsous tone, Adoremus in mode 5 with the Asola falsobordone, The Strife is O’er (which was a metaphor too).

    (Inspired by @MatthewRoth metaphor above)

    Musica SaC(r)ADENZA

    O Vos Omnes
    Grief and shame
    Crown of thorns
    Who’s to blame?

    Tenebrae
    All worn out
    Feet are sore
    Round-a-bout

    Jesus Christ
    Risen Today
    Filii
    Filiae

    Strife is O’er
    Singing done
    Candle snuffers
    On the run

    Regina Caeli
    Close the books
    Shed the albs
    Why the looks?

    Pater Noster
    Ave too
    Holy Ghost
    Through and through

    Missa est
    Pews be bare
    Kill the lights
    Outta here!
