    We must have posted around the same time. To date I've received over 600 emails. RDFYjolf was very evidently compromised.

    Not all the messages say 555. Others contained backslashes and periods, and one a string of mostly punctuation gibberish but with 'passwrd' in it. Idk if these mean anything.

    Edit: other things too, some of it looks like code.

    If you google the username similar strings appear in the Google previews associated with the username.

    Thanks to all who alerted me about this! I have deleted the account and taken some steps to block the perpetrator from returning.

    Thank you so much for doing that, @chonak. Do you have any tips for erasing all the messages? I started erasing, but with 2-3 clicks required to delete one conversation, and nearly 700 messages...there must be an easier way?

    Unless @chonak handles this on the database level, I'll eventually try to provide some kind of browser automation solution.

    I can select all these messages by a search on RDFYjolf, and ask my softwre to delete them, BUT it will only trash 30 at a time. (30 at a time is better than one at a time)

    Would anyone who still has junk messages in his or her forum inbox please let me know the username of the sender?

    Copies that are in your personal e-mail inbox are beyond my reach to delete, so you'll need to delete them en masse on your own.

    @chonak mine dont have a message inside but on the inbox section at the top it still says I have 688 new messages even though nothing is there.

    These are no longer showing in my inbox on this site, but notifications continue to come to my e-mails address by the dozens as recently as just a few minutes ago, all from the same username, RDFYjolf.

    This continues, day 5. New messages come to my e-mail address, although they don't appear in the inbox on this site. Is it not possible to block @RDFYjolf altogether? How is s/he/it still managing to send messages from automated-email-no-reply-please@musicasacra.com?

    @madorganist, it sounds like the messages are caught up somewhere on your email provider's server and are slowly being drip-fed into your inbox. I expect they were all originally sent at the same time everyone else received them.

    Perhaps try and create a filter on your inbox to automatically delete the emails.

    The e-mail copies are not being caused by the spammer directly. Instead, when he posts "conversation" messages into people's forum inboxes, the forum software generates an e-mail copy of each one.

    It's good to mass-delete those e-mails from your "mailbox", but please don't create an automatic filter to do so, since that would also delete legitimate messages sent from the forum software too.

    When it was unclear when this would end, I filtered out only an exact match for RDFYjolf.

    Doing it by email address is indeed a bad idea.

    But since it is fixed searching RDFYjolf in your inbox has the same effect.

    I also used that (helpfully unique) user name as my parameter for auto-deleting.
