Hey guys. Are there any decent settings of this carol aside from the Warlock and the Boris Ord? Preferably something hymn-like and on the simpler side? For reference, I have a relatively small volunteer choir which is 2 (maybe 3) voices per section strong on a good day.
I have two settings I wrote for my trebles years ago. One 2 part and one 3 part. Both easy, but compelling in my judgment. You can find them in the CRCCM Repertoire Project (repertoire.crccm.org). You can either search by title, look in the general advent category, or go to the composer list and click on my name.
Hi folks! This year I attempted a Lessons & Carols service with a very small amateur choir, and I needed a version of Adam Lay Ybounden that would be super easy. I mashed up the text with the tune Noel Nouvelet. It's not perfect, but works well enough I thought I would share in case anybody else would benefit. See the attached...
(Longer term, would love to do the Boris Ord or one of the settings linked in this thread... it just would have been beyond our team this year.)
