    In short, these are the new provisions:

    * As of 4/16/2021, processions may be held.

    Starting at Pentecost, if favorable trends continue:
    * congregational singing may resume
    * choirs may resume singing
    * parish functions may provide food and drink if they are prepackaged
    * preparations may be made for summer youth events and VBSes

    My guess is that they're worried about transmission by touching things, which… we're at a point where you think that this has been debunked or you're so badly affected by the pandemic that you think the evidence is uncertain. I haven't met anyone who thinks in fact surface contacts are a serious source of spreading the virus.

    Not likely in much of the Catholic USA. Way too Anglican. Back in the day, German-American Catholics would go to Mass, and then home for breakfast with, among other things, weißwurst & brötchen. Irish-American Catholics wouldn't touch anything smacking of Anglican culture with a 10-foot pole.
