Some of my new settings of the Alleluia with verse for the Ordinary Form have just been posted and are available for free download at http://garnieralleluias.org Currently available are the Alleluias for the four Sundays of Advent (Year C) and for the Immaculate Conception. More settings will follow, in time for use in the current calendar.
These settings adopt Jeff Ostrowski's own practise of providing a changing accompaniment for each iteration of the "Alleluia." Different, however, is the treatment of the verse, which uses the Gregorian Psalm tones for the Mass.
Elsewhere on this Forum, there has been a lively discussion of the suitability of applying Gregorian psalm tones, constructed with Latin stress patterns in mind, to texts in the vernacular English, a language with somewhat different typical stress patterns. Let the sample attached below be my contribution to that discussion.
UPDATE: more settings have recently been posted for free download at http://garnieralleluias.org These include the Gospel Acclamations for the Lenten season and the Alleluias for the Easter season through to Pentecost. As a sample, here is the Second Sunday in Lent and Easter Sunday.
