St. John Berchmans Church, a vibrant Roman Catholic parish in Chicago’s Logan Square neighborhood, is seeking applicants for the position of full-time DIRECTOR OF MUSIC AND ELEMENTARY MUSIC INSTRUCTOR. Duties include service planning and accompanying, conducting parish and school music ensembles, teaching music in St. John Berchmans School (K-8), and participating as a full member of the parish/school staff.

Applicants should hold a Bachelors degree in music or liturgy (Masters preferred); possess strong piano, organ, and vocal skills; have a comprehensive knowledge and love of Catholic liturgy, music and tradition; and hold at least 3 years experience in church music. Some knowledge of Spanish, and experience teaching elementary music are preferred but not required.
