OK, so I promised recordings. Mea culpa. I had no where to securely leave a device. It was either near fans or we were whispering quite a bit in the sanctuary.
At any rate: Fr. William Morgan sang the Requiem Mass in place of Fr. Pasley, who sang the Mass of St. William, and Fr. David Friel sang Wednesday’s Mass. Fr. Pasley officiated at Vespers.
OK, everyone, I'd like you to check out the YouTube video of the Organ Concert. Check it on your phone, various browsers, etc.! I'd like to know if you find this a better format for listening to the recordings.
Youtube is convenient. I would put a playlist up for each Mass. The problem is you can save an MP3. It is hard to do that from Youtube safely and legally.
I wouldn't do this as a replacement of my current archive. I just thought I'd test to see if it's more accessible for social media, phones, tablets, etc.
The organ concert will get more exposure on YouTube if each work is in a separate video. Then people will find it through search hits. Thanks for trying it out!
Good thought - I hadn't been worrying about pulling in non-Colloquium viewers. And this reminds me I should check with Benton about copyright restrictions about putting this online!
Well, folks, I think the entire 2016 Colloquium Archive is now complete, at least for all the recordings I've received to date. I had a bit of a challenge today with my hard disk running out of space, but now that's taken care of.
What's remaining is the huge archive zip files for downloading, but I may not be able to get to those this weekend.
Please let me know what errors you find! And, of course, if you have any recordings we can capture, please drop me a line.
Thanks to David Hughes, I've been able to split apart the different selections from the New Music reading session. What fantastic composers we have in this community!
