Simple Ave Maris Stella?
Right that is the one that I mentioned. Fontgombault reassigned it to lesser feasts of the Virgin as Vespers of the Saturday office haven’t existed since the 1960 reforms (1963 for the OSB). Although Vespers of even simple feasts could otherwise be…

Unless specified otherwise, the Assumption is the default feast of title for Marian churches. Churches of Our Lord have their feast of title on the Transfiguration (it was originally Christmas). This is in the rubrics for the TLM and nothing would …

Communication issue at subbing parish, worth emailing DM?
Yes. I don’t know why parish and diocesan staff think that paying people like musicians in a timely manner, communicating professionally in a timely manner, and sending the checks in a reasonable time frame is beneath them, but it is. I can’t say …

Simple Ave Maris Stella?
The mode I tone indicated for in Sabbato is really nice. It is essentially a simplex version of the original tone that is used indifferently (and most often) in the Roman rite and for solemn/major feasts according to the monastic antiphonal.

Mass XII (Potiron, with corrections and transposition)
except there are parts e.g. the three Amen formulae choices, where I hear a little bit of Potiron: we pretty much exclusively use his accompaniment for Vespers and Benediction except for a few items that I have to get from Clear Creek and the other …

We did it sometimes for the titular and for saints of which we had the relics (the actual body). Never the dedication which I found absurd because the church was indeed apparently consecrated (although the Mass should be celebrated on the anniversa…

Antiphons in the Order of Religious Profession
Hmm, although they’re unusual. Well that’s bad.

Indeed I believe that the first Mass for this purpose was put together for the 1960 revisions but I don’t believe that profession was within the Mass itself st this point.

The Solemn Te Deum - Modern Notation
If you don’t mind accompaniment it’s in Potiron’s benediction accompaniment. Or you could print and transcribe from there.

Seasonal booklets based on the Kyriale
All I can say is that I do booklets for my parish and have reinvented them a couple of times each and that’s just the nature of the beast.

Seasonal booklets based on the Kyriale
the only other alternative is to print an ordinary separately and then refer to it with cross-references; for example, if you prepare a booklet for the entire Mass of a special occasion, then put the introit, and then cross-reference Ps. 42 etc. bet…

I am a weirdo but: I have stopped including the Secret at Masses where there is a booklet. The hint is in the name! I don’t bother with dialogues besides the sprinkling, the dismissal, and the Marian antiphon (we do the versicle and collect) either.…

Right, the communion is moved in 1957/58 for example. The same for fusing the Benedictus and Sanctus (which Mocquereau and then the Vatican Commission asked for!)

I like the emphasis on downbeat time. I would say though that you should have SATB hymns. So the Sing to the Lord reference is an own goal. Also I have a preferred method of communication. @NihilNominis and I both now require email. (I might let so…

Wait, are you saying there are TLM congregations that actually sing at Mass? All of you are welcome at my place any time. I hope that we knock your socks off.

There is a great need for talent and intelligence, and some ambition that leads to competence, at all levels of the church particularly in places where she was historically nonexistent as an institution but is now being asked to do more with fewer c…

The role of the Offertory Chant
Uh, yes, but no. The processional aspect to communion is a bit ad hoc, justifying the general communion at every Mass.

On the other hand such can work very well even if it’s counterintuitive. Also Milnar services our organ. But Sponsa is very far from us.

New chant inspired Magnificat for women's choir
Tbh I would love to do it here. As I noted elsewhere I am interested in lute accompaniment. It’d be fun for communion on a Marian feast (I’m okay with occasionally removing this from the office especially as it is simple enough and through-composed).

Fees, rates, for choral weddings
I don’t want to go into all of the details publicly though I did tell Jonathan and others can ask in private but I’ll say this: my pastor decreed that musicians must accept the fee, to the extent that a couple will not be given music for free and th…

It’s complicated. The word accent is what it is. The musical accent is always a bit problematic, because the nominative and other declensions have the accent on spi-, by virtue of being three syllables with the long vowel being where it was when vow…

I mean things can have two meanings. It’s not that big of a deal. It’s also clear in context and to a novice it looks like a white note.

It would be easier to make the semitone a punctum cavum and give the score a caption if necessary.
