I am extremely excited about how much I have been able to learn over the past 2.5 years of composing Chabanel Psalms, and I can promise one thing: "The best is yet to come!!!!!"
Psalm went well. Small choir and cantor. Thanks so much. Happy Thanksgiving.
Here's a routine reminder: Avoid flames: critique principles, not people. Be discriminating but don't nitpick. Be academic not acerbic. Be principled not polemical.
We also used your setting here in Ohio. Went well, as they always do. We use a setting from Chabanel every week (well 99% of the time... typically Aristotle's, though we vary.)
For Advent we're using:
Advent I: In honor of holy John Houghton: & Edmund Brindholm
Advent II: Arlene Oost-Zinner
Immaculate Conception: Aristotle
Advent III: Guilmont (non-Chabanel)
Advent IV: Aristotle
