If you are a Schola in the Extraordinary Form, but you don't have much money to buy books, here are some options:

An absolutely AMAZING book, but not well known

Then there are these amazing things:
    VOLUME 1 & VOLUME 2

Or, there is always this FREE option:
Print them off for free on nice, 1-page sheets

Hi, Jeff. Could you tell me a bit more about Liber Brevoir. I read the description of the book, but hard to tell the difference from Graduale Romanum and Gregorian Massale which I already have.
    Thanks, Mia

    Hi, Mia.

My understanding is that it has all the essentials, but is cheaper.

My old priest had one and loved it!

The Graduale Romanum includes weekday Mass propers for saints' days; the Gregorian Missal does not include these, except for a few major days.

Similarly, the Liber Usualis includes weekday Mass propers and parts of the Office; and the Brevior does not have either.

the pdf for Liber Brevior is online (search on musicasacra home page):

..that's the best way to see what's in the hardbound book
  • Don't forget that the Liber usualis does not always match the Graduale for 1962.
  • Here's a routine reminder: Critique principles, not people.
