Thank you for the perspective, but the entire artistic and pastoral goal of "Mass at the Manger" is specifically to use familiar, well-loved traditional carols to encourage immediate assembly participation during Christmastime.
Would that this were so! I can tell you from experience that people will message you asking for an accompaniment part (and others will message asking for chord symbols to be added...) Many people cannot play by ear or memory and most parish musicians are part time, and many of those are not formally trained. It's easy for many of us, but less so for others who don't live and breathe it every day.I am explicitly leaving out accompaniment parts and keyboard chords for my own sanity, assuming that any parish musicians programming this would easily know the standard harmonic frameworks for these tunes.
