Looking for Louis Jacquemin — Accompagnements nouveaux et très faciles du Chant des Offices, 2e part

    Hello everyone,

    I’m also trying to locate another very scarce early twentieth-century chant-accompaniment series:

    Louis Jacquemin — Accompagnements nouveaux et très faciles du Chant des Offices

    specifically the 2e partie: Antiphonaire, containing the actual musical accompaniments for Vespers, Lauds, antiphons, saints’ offices, and related Office chants.

    One complication is that some libraries and digitized collections catalog Amédée Gastoué’s explanatory notices under very similar titles. I am not looking for those prose notices alone; I am looking for Jacquemin’s actual accompaniment music.

    I have managed to acquire a few individual fascicles already, including:

    Fascicule 2
    Fascicule 3
    a Propre des Saints — Février fascicle

    But I am still looking for the rest of the series, especially:

    Fascicule 4 — “Des Laudes de Noël à l’Octave de la St-Jean”

    That fascicle is of particular interest to me because it should contain the Christmas Lauds material.

    More broadly, I would be very interested in any of the missing Antiphonaire fascicles, whether as individual booklets, bound volumes, scans, photographs, or private-library copies.

    If anyone owns any of these Jacquemin fascicles, has seen them in an old choir loft or organ library, or knows of a digitized or secondhand source, I would be extremely grateful for any lead.

    Even simple page-by-page photographs would be perfectly useful for my private research.

    @NellieSantee I have a small collection of French hymnbooks that I probably will never use. They date from 1896-1966 and some I paid a modest fee, others were given to me. If you have any interest in my collection contact me.

    @Don9of11 Thank you very much — I would definitely be interested in taking a closer look at part of the collection.

    I did a little preliminary research, and a few of the titles appear especially relevant to the historical chant-accompaniment material I’m collecting. If it isn’t too much trouble, could you send me quick phone photos of the cover/title page and table of contents or index for these five?

    The 1950 Vitte accompaniment volume is of particular interest to me, since it appears to be a substantial dedicated accompaniment book and I have not been able to find a digitized copy online.

    I was able to locate digital versions or substantial information for some of the other books on your list, so these five seem like the best ones to investigate first.

    Even very quick phone photos would be perfect — no need for anything elaborate.

    Thank you again. This is exactly the sort of older French repertoire I’ve been trying to track down.
