Thread bump again - oh the wonders of the internet!
I'm a medical doctor based in the UK, and I compose and play the organ too. My (Anglican) church is one of two within the Parish of Moseley Birmingham, these being St Anne's church and St. Mary's church, which boasts a fine choir and organ. After the organ at St. Mary's was thoroughly restored last year I thought it would be a nice gesture to write an anthem about St Anne and St Mary, only to find almost nothing existed that included them both within the same hymn. Then my search took me to this very thread whereupon I read Kathy Pluth's lovely translation of Nocti succedit lucifer and knew I'd found the perfect text for what I needed.
Through the forum I was able to contact Kathy who very generously allowed me to use the words as the basis of an anthem, which we have now performed in both churches. I have also made a (synthesised) recording that I wanted to share in the hope readers will enjoy it and be blessed through the words and music.
