On March 14, the Cathedral of the Holy Cross was the site of a Pueri Cantores Youth Choir Festival, followed by a Mass for Laetare Sunday, celebrated by Abp. Richard Henning. Here's video from the live stream of the public program and the Mass:

Pueri Cantores is a wonderful organization. If you do not participate in one of their festivals, please look them up and try to participate next year!

I took my youth choir to a PC festival years ago, and they absolutely loved it! We made an overnight trip, with the help of some involved parents, with a stay at a hotel with a pool and a pizza party. These events are really terrific at helping kids to see the bigger picture, connect at the broader level with others who share their interests, and get to sing this music in a beautiful church with the acoustics that this music is meant to be sung in. Plus, they get exposed to beautiful, traditional sacred music that might be otherwise out of reach for them. Also, I myself was able to connect with other youth choir directors and exchange ideas. Recommend.

Some years ago I was deeply into Pueri Cantores. The director and I spoke quite frequently (he is a wonderful musician and person). However, I ran a Florida festival and we tangled because I wanted the programming of the propers and the reading of neumes. The organization resisted and I walked away from it. The propers and neumes were seen as "too hard".
I hope that has changed because many conductors wanted it also but the organization did not. I could not countenance the resistance to such an intregral part of the tradition. I know many who run choirs that would love to do it but that has been a stumbling block.

It was good to hear the kids sing the Introit "Laetare Jerusalem" at the Mass (included in the video).
