St. Paul’s Church is undertaking a major expansion of its musical program under the patronage of Bishop Frank J. Caggiano. A new Choral Foundation is being established centred on professional Men & Boys and Men & Girls choirs. Ahead of the chorister program’s launch and beginning in mid-February, a mixed-voice professional ensemble of 5 singers will sing for Lauds & Solemn Mass on Sundays.
Job Requirements
Staff Singers must possess excellent sight-reading skills and, preferably, experience with Gregorian chant.
Staff Singers may also choose to be on the cantor rotation, providing music for the Saturday 4:00 p.m. Mass, the Sunday 9:30 a.m. Mass, and the many weddings and funerals held throughout the year. All such services are paid separately.
Remuneration
Staff Singers will be paid on a per call basis according to the following rates:
The total earnings would amount to approximately $11,000+ per annum.
Application & Audition
Please submit a résumé (wirh audio samples) to Maks Adach (maks.adach@googlemail.com). At the audition, you will be asked to present a prepared piece and sight-sing a short choral excerpt. Auditions will be held either at a convenient location near Greenwich Station, or in midtown-Manhattan.
