    Overview

St. Paul’s Church is undertaking a major expansion of its musical program under the patronage of Bishop Frank J. Caggiano. A new Choral Foundation is being established centred on professional Men & Boys and Men & Girls choirs. Ahead of the chorister program’s launch and beginning in mid-February, a mixed-voice professional ensemble of 5 singers will sing for Lauds & Solemn Mass on Sundays.

    Job Requirements

Staff Singers must possess excellent sight-reading skills and, preferably, experience with Gregorian chant.

    Call Schedule

    10.30am – Pre-Service call
    11.10am – Lauds & Solemn Mass
    12.45-2pm – Rehearsal (Post Mass)

Staff Singers may also choose to be on the cantor rotation, providing music for the Saturday 4:00 p.m. Mass, the Sunday 9:30 a.m. Mass, and the many weddings and funerals held throughout the year. All such services are paid separately.

    Remuneration

Staff Singers will be paid on a per call basis according to the following rates:

    Choral Liturgies: $230.00
    Rehearsals: $100.00
    Cantored Liturgies: $70.00
    Weddings & Funerals: $200.00

The total earnings would amount to approximately $11,000+ per annum.

    Application & Audition

Please submit a résumé (wirh audio samples) to Maks Adach (maks.adach@googlemail.com). At the audition, you will be asked to present a prepared piece and sight-sing a short choral excerpt. Auditions will be held either at a convenient location near Greenwich Station, or in midtown-Manhattan.

  • I recently subbed at St. Paul's. It's a really wonderful parish and Father Clark is an excellent priest.
