Good liturgy in St. Louis?
  • Does anybody have parish recommendations in St. Louis, MO? A member of my choir is moving there and is hoping to find a parish with a reverent liturgy, and a good choral program, too, if possible.
  • That's a big geographic area, but my 2c from when my sister lived there was that the liturgy and music at St. Louis Abbey was excellent.

Well, what do they want? There are two oratories which exclusively have the usus antiquior, with rather different takes on the ceremonies and the music; I’m partial to Saint Francis de Sales myself.

The cathedral has both reverent liturgy and a good sacred music program.

If you're looking for a parish (rather than an oratory or cathedral) contact me privately. Not a lot of great choral programs, but some are trying and need more singers. OCP and Praise and Worship is standard fare in many places.

If the choir member happens to be a lady, she may take an interest in the Polyhymnia Catholic Women's Choir, directed by our friend Nori Fahrig.
