I would like to share an arrangement that I have been working on for the hymn "O Sacred Heart! O Love Divine!" I was planning to have it finished during the month of June dedicated to the Sacred Heart of Jesus, but alas! that did not happen. Comments and feedback are welcome! The notation software that I used is newer to me and I have not figured out how to do all the formatting things that I would like to, but I am for the most part pleased with the result. Both a PDF file of the score and a mp3 recording (MIDI only) are attached.
I’m glad you kept the original melody, I think the piano arrangement is “interesting” but I think the extra fingering takes away from the melody and underscores the verses. I think it’s a little too much. Maybe if you played the piano a little softer to bring out the melody. Of course I know that computer generated music is nothing to write home about.
I like your harmonization in the voices, but I agree with Don that the accompaniment is maybe a bit much. The melody has a lovely lilt to it with the 6/8 timing, but the running 16th notes make it muddy in places.
