The subject says it all. I'd like a hymnal for use in Canada with Gregorian Chant notation, great hymns, etc. Any tips? Our parish may be buying a new hymnal and I'm being asked to vote.
If for a parish, the contents can be customized. This particular edition is for a Catholic School Community, so it includes secular music for music class, etc.
The only hymnal I know of which features square notes and has a faultless list of hymns is The English Hymnal, pub. 1906. RVW was an editor. It is better than even The Hymnal 1940.
@JonDeuling the spelling of "Savior Of The Nations Come" should give an indication (if inclusion of the Battle Hymn of the Republic didn't already hint at it)
