I wonder if any of you brains have ideas for a christmas eve choral work.
Here is what I am looking for:
    1. Should be about an half an hour or less.
    2. Prelude before midnight Mass.
    3. Could have brass or strings etc.
Last year we did the Vivaldi Gloria, I am looking for something similar.

    Would Saint-Saen’s Christmas Oratorio work?

I am amazed that you would not take even one day off before turning to Christmas planning!

Excerpt a larger work to fit the time constraint, or combine anthems from the same composer to maintain stylistic unity.

You could do selections from JS Bach's Christmas Oratorio, as an alternative to the Saint-Saëns (which is incomplete in this online edition).

In the OUP collection Christmas motets, they offer instrumental accompaniment for Scheidt's In dulci jubilo and Sweelinck's Hodie Christus natus est. You could do a selection of motets from this volume, including the two accompanied pieces for variety's sake.

Max Reger's gradually paced and wonderfully rich chorale cantata on Vom himmel hoch, which runs around fifteen minutes.
