    Here’s what’s on the agenda for this weekend. I get to cantor a cappella at our Saturday evening Mass.

    Processional: At the Lamb’s High Feast
    Gloria: C. Andrews

    Alleluia: Jubilation Mass (J. Chepponis)
    Offertory: O Sacrament Most Holy
    Holy, Mystery, Amen, Lamb of God: Jubilation Mass (J. Chepponis)

    Recessional: God’s Blessing Sends Us Forth

    Since it will be a cappella, the Gloria and Eucharistic Mass parts will probably be recited instead of sung. I’ll also probably do a simple Alleluia—maybe Vulpius’ three-fold.

    It looks like Andrews’ Gloria will be used for the first part of summer. I love that one, and it’s actually relatively new to my parish, only started being used back in 2016. Fr. Chepponis’ Mass setting is pretty nice, too.

    Leaning a bit more toward sacred music than I usually program at my fairly typical NO parish, so it will be interesting to see how this will be received. It will also be the choir's first time singing the Mozart piece or anything like it from classical repertoire.

    I actually just directed a Corpus Christi Mass today (Traditional Latin Mass).

    Processional - O Jesus We Adore Thee
    Ordinary - Mass II
    Credo V
    Full Gregorian Propers

    Sacerdotes Domini by Byrd at Offertory after the chant
    ...followed by Solemn tone Salve Regina
    O Sacrum Convivium by Viadana after the Communion chant.

    Then there was a procession. We sang Pange Lingua, Adoro Te, and Verbum Supernum prodiens on the way to an outside altar. After Benediction at that altar, we processed back to the church singing Jesus My Lord My God My All. After another Tantrum Ergo/Benediction/Divine Praises, closed with the standard Holy God We Praise Thy Name.

    It was very good. All diocesan ministers; the celebrant was a newly-ordained priest (ordained May 29th) and this was his 3rd Solemn High TLM already this week!

    did you have polyphony in your procession? if so, how did it go? and would you do it again?

    We have sung Polyphony during Blessed Sacrament processions on more than a few occasions. On the outdoor procession we using sing the O Salutaris (De La Rue), but we have the choir stationary! and sing as the procession passes by.

    In the Church we sing from the Gallery, while they process below. It is difficult to sing and walk and polyphony would be quite tricky!
