Easter Vigil Baptism Acclamation

    I am looking for a decent, dignified acclamation set to the words,

    "Rejoice, rejoice, child of God!
    You are baptized in Jesus Christ!
    Rejoice, rejoice! Alleluia! Alleluia!"

    What I am NOT looking for is another setting that sounds like an Irish jig, is in Latin, or has 3 minute melismas composed by Guido the Gimpy for the coronation of Queen Metallica. It needs to conform to the current rite using the Revised Roman Missal.

    Has anyone seen such anywhere? I certain haven't. The published versions I have encountered are awful.

    Haven't seen it so can't comment on what the music is like, and it looks like it might be a different version of that text.

    Attachment is not based on a jig and contains only one melisma.

    Richard always comes through. Thanks. These are both far better than the "Charge of the Light Brigade" that's in our hymnal.

    Is this something like an official text? I don't see it in the Missal.

    It is in the WLP missalette since 2011 when the new missal was put into use.

    And the Missal rubrics for the Easter Vigil include the following

    "52. Afterwards, unless the baptismal washing and the other explanatory rites have occurred in the sanctuary, a procession returns to the sanctuary, formed as before, with the newly baptized or the godparents or parents carrying lighted candles. During this procession, the baptismal canticle Vidi Aquam (i saw water) *or another appropriate chant* is sung (no. 56)." [emphasis added]

    And no. 56 provides for the Vidi Aquam but also ends with "Another chant that is baptismal in character may also be sung."

    102. Next there is a procession to the altar, unless the baptism was performed in the sanctuary. The lighted candle is carried for the child. A baptismal song is appropriate at this time, e.g.:

    You have put on Christ,
    in him you have been baptized.
    Alleluia, alleluia.

    Other songs may be chosen from nos. 225-245.

    The other 'songs' are found at the end of this page, the majority are scriptural verses. These presumably count as "Another chant that is baptismal ...".
    But whether any of them has been set to music I do not know.

    The "You have put on Christ..." is what we used before the 3rd edition of the Roman Missal. It changed to what I listed somewhere above.

    ICEL doesn't list the Easter Vigil Acclamation but only has the sheet containing the priest's lead in.
