Our music director at church is looking for this piece. So, I started looking around on CPDL and IMSPL web site for this title in a choral arrangement but I did not find anything. There are several youTube videos including one by Andrea Bocelli. I have located lyric text in a couple of different places but no music as yet. Could it be under a different title perhaps? Any help appreciated

The Italian bishops conference owns the copyright:

And the composer is J.-P. Lecot:

and a score is listed on Marco Voli's page:

The text is by Marco Frisina.

    A unison edition is at

Thanks a million! Our music director will really give me a hug now. This piece was used at the ordination of our pastor and she has been looking for it for sometime now. Thanks again.

Don9of11, could you please share the English translation of it? It seems really hard to find :)
  • We have a copy translated into Latin.
  • Don,

    Please clarify:

    Chris,

Three years ago the music director at my parish of St. Paul in Akron, was looking for this hymn because it was used at the ordination of our pastor. It was sung at his first mass when he became a priest. I was helping to locate a copy for her then.

Anyway, I checked with her via email a few days ago and she sent me this link

    https://abmusicacom.wordpress.com/sacred-arias/

If you scroll down the page you'll find a translation. I don't think this is the same translation we used but it is very close. This weekend or at our next choir rehearsal I will get a copy of the music we used with the English translation.

Okay as promised here is the English version of Gloria a Te, that we sing at my parish of St. Paul. The copy is faded but still readable. I don't think I'm violating any copyright laws by posting this here, but if I am, I'm sure the moderators will let me know. I really don't know where our MD got this copy. It has to be on the internet somewhere.
