    Before I start polishing, can anyone tell me if this is more or less grammatical, or should I have stuck with Grandes/Gloriosas cosas?

    It's not grammaticaly correct. Options are:

    Glorias se cantan de ti, María: Porque te ha hecho grandes cosas el Poderoso.

    or: Gloriosas cosas se cantan de ti...
