Septuagesima Sunday

    Our new pastor just decided to do Mass in the EF on the fourth Sunday of every month. I'm pretty excited about it. Our next planned EF liturgy is on Jan 28th, which happens to be Septuagesima. We have a schola group that can do all the chants, but does anyone have any recommendations for a couple of motets that we could sing as well? Thanks!

    Congratulations!

    Don't know if you are looking for things specific to Septuagesima or general to the sense of pre-Lent / Septuagesima-tide. If you are looking for something general, there are lots of straight-forward penitential / mournful motets... Adoramus Te (Dubois), O Bone Iesu (Palestrina), etc.. You could also do something like Alma Redemptoris (Palestrina - or chant) - it is the Marian anthem through Feb. 2nd.
