I need TTB setting of the alternate verses of the Magnificat for First Vespers of the Purification. Any ideas of where to look? I've already tried CPDL & IMSLP and my search is for naught.
There is a book - Manuel Pratique de Chants Liturgiques - which I was able to obtain via online reseller last year, with faux bourdon Magnificats in virtually every mode although not every termination. I used a 1D for Pentecost last year and it has become a nice alternative to the Grassi 8G. The particular arrangement for 1D is SATB, but I'm sure it could be tweaked to work for TTB. The person responsible for the collection and many of the arrangements in the above book is J. Besnier.
I may be misunderstanding what you mean by fauxbordon (New Grove tries to distinguish it from both faburden and falsobordone) but in the absence of a work by Dufay I'd turn to Trent for 3-part settings: Magnificat 1. toni or this one, also from Tr. 88 (the textpage list at CPDL is wanting full annotations).
Typically one would look for the parts to alternate against the chant, and for the parts to be consistent from verse to verse (not like, for example, certain Victoria arrangements where each verse is unique). Not only the mode, but termination as well - helpful to more easily redirect to the corresponding antiphon at the conclusion of the Magnificat.
