I am looking for "De Profundis" by F. X. Witt which apparently is out of print. I have a partial score someone gave me years ago and started teaching to to my Schola for All Souls, ordering the octavo from Stanton's (the only place I could find it), but just got an email from them that's it's permanently of our stock. Anyone have this in their collection and could share a scan, or point me to a source??

It's in a polish publication Muzyka w Liturgii nr 62 apparently in print and available for immediate dispatch. There is a preview of the first page on their website.

It's also published by Carus Verlag and available from SheetMusicPlus.

Thank you for these leads. Hawkins, do you have that web link?

Here's a seller with a copy for 9 zl. Perhaps it's the same one a_f_hawkins saw:

So here's what I've run into...I emailed Carus Verlag and they don't sound willing to sell me a digital score. Instead they want to charge me $50 to ship 10 hard copies of music! :( Any other suggestions??

Performed last year at St Stanislaus, Milwaukee you could try emailing them for a copy,
    ststanislaus@institute-christ-king.org
The Polish site says it is OUT of stock when you click 'buy now', unfortunately.

Carlus Verlag is distributed in the U.K. by Presto Classical. I have dealt with them on a number of occasions and shipping (to the USA) has been quite reasonable. $1.50/copy—there doesn't appear to be a minimum order.

Aagh - Presto tells you about the minimum order after you try to order fewer (it's 20! for this item).
  • I would second the recommendation for Presto. I often find it’s cheaper to order American music through them than directly from the publishers or Sheet Music Plus (slower shipping than from England!).

At Sheet Music Plus, the site says their minimum is 8; is that enough to cover your choir?

The problem with Sheet Music Plus is that the have to get it from overseas, which will take several weeks. I need the score by next Monday.

If it's any help, the publisher has a copy here with a big watermark on each page. The piece is two pages long, and it's #10 in the collection.

Maybe consider this setting instead - it's not much more difficult:

Thanks, all. chonak, a friend happened upon that same PDF today. I already had the first page (copy of a handwritten score someone gave me years ago), and I think I'll be able to transcribe the handful of missing notes for the second page from the YT recording (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=K-YWPasf87c)
  • So where's all the Witt? There's really not much up on the scan sites, and this is public domain music. Whatsa matta y'all?

If someone can find older (i.e., public domain) scores in a library somewhere, it would be a fine thing to scan them so that someone could transcribe them for CPDL.
