    this is marginally music-related :-)

    I had heard somewhere that there was a cause for the canonization of Tomas Luis de Victoria.

    Can anyone confirm? Give the current status?

    I'd be interested in hearing about any music he composed to further Borromeo's liturgical reforms.

    Side-note: S. Philip Neri and Palestrina were close friends, too.

    Francisco Soto de Langa was a member of St. Philip's congregation, and our saint hung out with lay composers Giovanni Animuccia and Vittoria Archilei as well.
