Last night I taught 5 more little kids how to sing Night Prayer.

Excuse me, but is this heaven?

No, but you're showing how we bring about the Kingdom on earth!

I've been working on teaching my children to sing Compline. I've been adapting stuff from the Liber Usualis.

Do you have a particular setting you use?

    It's an amazing privilege.

I just choose a very simple Psalm tone and use it throughout, for starters. The next step is singing Meinrad Psalter tones with the pastor. The Schola has done that before for solemn Vespers.

I have so much fun putting things into kid speak. "The underline is the sign that you CHANGE. Up till then you sing the same note. It could be just one or two times, lala, or it could be a lost of times, lalalalalalalalalalalalala. However many there are before the underlined syllable. And then on the underlined syllable you change, lalalalalalalalalalLALALALA/ lalalalalalalalalalaLALALALA

We stayed over our practice time, but nobody cared. We delayed the Legion of Mary rosary, but they were smiling!
