I'm wondering if there are alternatives to the $8/day parking at the hotel. I'm staying elsewhere and would like to avoid that fee if possible. Is there anything, or are we stuck with that?

Olbash is confusing White Suit Wednesday with White Jacket Black Tuxedo Pants Saturday. When will he learn?

A Pimm's cup contains the following...

This quintessential British summertime drink is filled with fruit.
Ingredients in the Pimm's Cup Cocktail

    2 oz Pimm’s No. 1
3 oz Sprite, 7Up or ginger ale
    1 or 2 Cucumber slices
1 Strawberry, hulled and cut into quarters
    Half an orange slice
    1 Lemon slice
    6 Mint leaves

Add all the ingredients to a highball glass filled with ice and stir to combine. (To mix things up a bit, you can replace the Sprite, 7Up or ginger ale with Champagne.)

You nailed it, Michael, we do the Bogart Casablanca look. That covers the bow tie stuff as well. MJM can play the Peter Lorre character.

    So it's essentially health food.

Yep. That's how I see it. :) Aren't the experts always harping on about people needing more fruit in their diet?

Wendi, fiber drinks are good for you when you travel. But not so good on White Suit Wednesdays.

I just realized I should probably warn people...I'm a hugger. I try to remember not to invade someone's personal space, but I sometimes forget when I'm excited...and I am very excited at the prospect of meeting those of you I haven't yet met in person.

I, like Billy Connely's character in the film "Quartet" (highly recommended)...
cheat most obviously at croquet, it must be endemic to Scotsmen.
I think if Darling brings a cricket setup, I might get enthused.

I realize this is a long shot, but I'll be driving a rental car down to Indy on Monday, June 30, from Rockford (NW Illinois). Anyone who might need a ride down, please PM me. (I'm flying back from there, so no ride back, alas).

Just a general announcement...I have decided that I don't want a white suit and they aren't flattering to me...therefore I will be wearing a pretty white dress instead. That is all.

Pulling them off isn't difficult. It's tying it that's a little harder sometimes.

So I need to start shopping and packing for this Colloquium.

Besides a White suit what else is required?

Seriously...do we wear choir robes or Sunday best for the liturgies? Do I need to bring any music (a Graduale, polyphonic pieces...) or is everything provided there?

So far as I know choir robes have never been worn. ."Sunday best" is a good rule, although if any of the venues are as hot as the church in Pittsburgh, I have great respect for any man who can manage a tie, much less a suitjacket.
Womens fashions have ranged from Goth to Homeschooler to Sister of Charity in civvies.

In SLC the request was "business casual" for all Masses. It did seem like most of the men wore shirt and tie. But not all. There were some Polo-type shirts with Docker-type slacks.

    Hope that helps......sigh...........!

One should dress slightly better than going to the grocery store...

And one should wear a slacks and a blazer to the grocery store.
