Spreading the Use of the Simplex
  • Would it be possible to do a new type-setting of the Graduale Simplex in the same manner as the SEP, specifically making individual masses available in separate PDFs?

If you're willing to do it and/or organize it, I'm sure it is possible.
  • I want to help. But let's remember that the GS can be used on the mix and match principle: Although the antiphons and psalms are arranged in suites, antiphons and psalms can be chosen ad libitum, as long as they are in keeping with the lectionary of the day.

  • It might be better, for that reason, not to arrange them as individual Masses, but in individual sections.
  • One thing which has always baffled me is why they didn't create Simplex settings of the Ad Libitum Communion antiphons.
  • FWIW, the Graduale Simplex has its own equivalent suite of ad libitum Communion chants:

    • Alleluia, alleluia, alleluia/Gustate; Ps 34
    • Ego sum panis vivus; Ps 23
    • Sanctum nomen Domini; Lk 1:46–55
    • Ubi caritas

So between the Graduale Romanum and Graduale Simplex, there are eleven communion chants suggested for use ad libitum.

Here's a link to a PDF that contains SATB English settings of the above, taken from this collection.
