Would anyone be willing to share the score for the Angelus chant or know where I can find it?
I am looking to program the music for the Feast of the Immaculate Conception which falls on a Sunday this year. I will have a children's choir sing at a Mass. This choir is makeshift and made up of homeschooling children from around the area, most of whom do not belong to our parish. I know I will have the simple "Ave Maria" chant. What other chants are most appropriate? They must be simple because we will not be able to rehearse often. I'm hoping the parents will take the time to have the children listen to the chants on youtube or recordings which I will provide as part of their homeschool day.
"the Feast of the Immaculate Conception which falls on a Sunday this year"
Yes, December 8 will be a Sunday this year, but because this is the Second Sunday of Advent, the celebration of the Solemnity of the Immaculate Conception is transferred to the next day, Monday, December 9.
In the Old Rite '1962 Missal' (and in earlier calendars!) The Feast is not transferred. So the 2nd Sunday of Advent is replaced by the Feast of the Immaculate Conception.
