    Because
    1. I think you'd be good at it.
    2. You'd bring people together.
    3. You're smart and talented and you should do it.

While all of these things that you mention are true...
    1. I'm quite content where I'm at and would miss parish-life.
    2. NOBODY has any idea who I am. I think they'd like someone better connected.
    3. Their offices are someplace where it snows.

And you could move the offices to Phoenix. But who wants to bring that sort of organization into a good diocese? :-)

NPM is a very nice organization that does a lot of good. I'm sure it would be welcomed in many Dioceses.

Exactly. See, you can say things like that. And you can talk to everyone and be friendly, and you're capable, and as you've said, "ridiculously easy to get along with."

You're just setting yourself up to be MJM's Joe Biden and successor. But Hillary's just a heartbeat away, Wood, and she got rhyme.

    Awesome, Chuck, thank you.
There lies my entire general music curriculum for this coming year K-7. Now how to convert 8th grade Bell Choir to recto tono bells...

An aleatoric peal of recto tono bells could be quite effective.

chg, mf, rk: Careful with your capitalization. It's THE RECTO TONO PROPERS, and I understand MJM's legal team does not take kindly to incorrect usage.

Fr. Ron, I read a review on Ship of Fools about the principal cathedral Mass in Mexico City, and that in 1947 one of the bells hit and killed its ringer. The rector "banished" the bell by removing the clapper!
On seccond thought, if RECTO TONO (copyright 2013 MJM) bells might elicit the demise of a student I'd have to punish Malmark and go back to the chromatics!

    Charles,

I was under the impression while reading the Forum discussions the past few months that on the MS agenda was the banning of all clappers from parish churches as well as cathedrals. Well, if it must be one at a time, so be it.

    AP23,
I've sparred with Matthew Meloche when he was in Windsor, chanted with him in Pittsboig and Chicago, drank wine with him in Salt Lake City and let me tell you:
    We're no Matthew Meloche!
    Meloche for Commiczar!
