Problems with Finale chant notation

    I cant seem to hide stems and time signature in my Finale printmusic 2011 software.. the only option in the staff and measure diologue box is hide staff , also I cannot access Advanced Palette .Any ideas..

    It might not be a feature included in Printmusic. If it's possible, you could get the full version, which I know for sure has the ability to do stemless notes, but I understand that it's rather costly.

    Finale PrintMusic does not have support for stemless notation or hiding time signatures.

    Yes, it might not be available in PrintMusic. I have Finale 2005 and I am able to hide time signature, clef, key signature, and bar lines with the staff and measure tools. However, hiding the stems is another story: I have to use the stem tool from the Advanced Palette and manually drag the stems down to the note head level so that it appears there is no stem. It is not perfect, but it works and looks correct.

    In the newer versions of Finale (and perhaps older as well) you can select Document Options from the Document menu - it allows you to change the stem length value to "0".

    There is a much easier way in Finale (the full version, of course). Select the region to have stemless notes, then from the Staff menu, select Apply Staff Style To, and then choose Stemless Notation.
