It's my first post -- new to posting, but a very involved reader over the past few months. Love the content!
In my search for higher-quality liturgical music of both traditional and contemporary origins (generally staying away from most Haas/Haugen/etc. stuff), I came across the compositions of Ola Gjeilo. Are any of you familiar with his works, or can attest to their accessibility? Of particular interest to me has been "The Ground", and also his "Ubi Caritas", specifically, the recording with the CWU choir and his own improvised accompaniment to it, found on YouTube.
I am in search of more profound and notable works like his, in similar style and sound. Any suggestions from you all?
My choir has also sung his Ubi Caritas, with moderate success. The unaccompanied key changes are always tricky for a good number of us, but quite beautiful!
