I am doing a Maronite funeral tomorrow and wanted to see if anyone had any ideas for workable postludes for a funeral? It would be in place of what we regularily regard as the closing hymn or song. Thanks in advance.
At our parish, the hymn Myrrh and Incense is always chanted. The organ may then be played softly while the faithful leave the church. I am told that this hymn goes right back to the Apostles. The tune for this hymn is Bsafro Salee Doneeyel, which is what the 3 men in the fiery furnace chanted in the Book of Daniel.
