Here's one from the Westminster Hymnal (1966), written by R A Knox, specifically for the feast. It's Long Metre and the given tune is Rex Gloriose.

  • Was also noticing that one of the options for morning prayer is A Mighty Fortress is Our God. Can't put my finger on why, but it strikes me as inappropriate for these two saints. ;^)

    God bless,

  • BTW, maybe I'm blanking, but when would Evening Prayer 1 of Several Martyrs, Pastors, Virgins, Holy Women, etc. ever be used?

I'm just so disappointed that "forswore" in v3 didn't get rhymed with "Thomas More."
    :)

    Ah well...

One that comes quickly to mind is on the feast day of a parish under the patronage of a group of saints, which is to be celebrated as a solemnity.
