Are we an elite? If so, so what?

my comments have sometimes been pulled apart by incorrect spelling

My experience has been this only happens when the result is entertaining, not a general marmish correctionism.
  • I get your point, although I have to say that some of us that are up against such odds in our parishes as choirs that have no commitment, pastors who are difficult and demanding and congregations who feel a need to comment on anything and everything musical, need to know they can come to a forum and find support and love from colleagues without worrying about making sure all the I's are dotted and the T's are crossed.

Hmm. I'm going to add one more group characteristic:

Like to engage in long, esoteric discussions.

We all know, of course, to what I was referencing (at least I hope we do).

To be precise, MT56, no, we don't all know (like a secret handshake) to what you were referencing by using OCP as a short cut to clarification. BTW, my admonition was NOT personally directed at you. No need for the Wow!! rejoinder. You can post as long or short as you want. You can continue to use OCP as code. It's your platform.
But if I'm so upset that OCP's hymnals contain Landry's "Abba Father" but yet I think Manalo's "By the waking of our hearts" is a great song, then I'll be constrained to be intellectually honest about using OCP as a bogeyman.
Here, this is pithy: "Blest be the Lord" is ca ca. "In Every Age" is golden. That's what I think.
I also think that some of Adam B's antiphons in SEP are more worthy than others. So, what do you conclude is my total assessment of SEP?

At the risk of a sidetrack....
Do you really, or was that just an example?

However, whatever was his hymn for Communion sung at Oakland's episcopal ordination Saturday totally rocked!
