    Whence comes the Ecce sacerdos antiphon? I'd like check a translation against a published text. Thanks!

    If you mean the antiphon from the Divine Office, the Antiphonale Monasticum III (2007) gives:

    Ecce sacerdos magnus qui in diebus suis placuit Deo et inventus est iustus (alleluia).
    -Sir 50, 1; 44, 16.17

    Can anyone suggest/recommend an English-language setting? I set it myself last night, but I wanted to see what other greater lights than I had come up with.

    I don't know of a setting, but here's the English translation from the 1964 ed. Rev. Bede Babo 'The Roman Breviary: An Approved English Translation complete in one Volume from the official Text of the Breviarum Romanum authorized by the Holy See."

    Behold a great priest, * who in his days pleased God, and was found just.

    Really? Nobody greets a bishop with this antiphon in English? Am I thinking too hard?

    It also exists as the [spoken] Introit in the Missale Romanum (Common of Pastors, I. For a Pope or for a Bishop, 1st forumlary, 2nd option) in this form:

    Ecce sacérdos magnus,
    qui in diébus suis plácuit Deo:
    ídeo iureiurándo fecit illum Dóminus créscere
    in plebem suam (T.P. allelúia).
    -Cf. Sir 50, 1; 44, 16.22

    Translated in the current Roman Missal as:

    Behold a great priest, who in his days pleased God;
    therefore, in accordance with his promise,
    the Lord gave him growth for the good of his people (E.T. alleluia).
    -Cf. Sir 50: 1; 44: 16, 22

    As much as I like researching the text and its various liturgical appointments, I don't offhand know of an English setting.

    Sorry, I took "if anyone is interested" as in "if anyone was interested in a copy".

    Didn't dawn on me that you could mean "if anyone is interested in knowing..."

    The only thing I can think of is scanning it into a pdf and posting, or converting it into some music software.
