Does anyone know who the actual publisher of the 1962 liber Usualis reprint is?

Bump. What I want to know is who is printing, or having it printed or both.

I do not know. Bonaventure, I think, does one from the late 1950s.

It was being published by Preserving Christian Publications. There is a discussion on obtaining the 1961 Liber with several links here.
  • I am also trying to find out who made this 1962 Liber Usualis reprint and asked Preserving Christian Publications: « Can you tell me if you are the editor of the reprinted Liber Usualis all in latin from 1962? »

This is what they replied: « We reprinted the Liber Brevior and not the Liber Usualis. »

So the search is still on...

  • I've seen Angelus Press named as the publisher for this reprint. Can't say for sure, but there is this page on their website: Link.
  • Months ago I asked Angelus Press: they said the reprint of this Liber Usualis was made by the (FSSPX) Society's Seminary in Flavigny / Séminaire International Saint Curé d'Ars - 21150 Flavigny sur Ozerain, France.
Then I asked the FSSPX seminary in France if they did make the reprint and they said they did not... So the mystery remains.
I'm telling you: Dan Brown could make a novel about it: « The Da Liber Code »!

We had 1962 Liber Usualis available here in England, but I don't think there are any for sale now. I was told that they were a large batch of old stock not sold in the 1960's and had been rebound and put on sale.

Angelus Press was selling this 1962 reprint in a more compact size. This more compact edition, though not as great a binding as was the earlier 1962 re-print, is still better than the poor quality of the Bonaventure edition. However, they currently they show it as 'Out of stock' on their website.

The reason I brought up the question is: I was able to look one of the 62 reprints over and was impressed with the physical quality of the book (clear print and nice paper, it was nearly 4 inches thick). I suspected PCP was merely distributing not producing them as it looked different from anything they produce.

stanmetheny - that’s interesting, I've had several copy’s of the LU in various states of decay pass through my hands and have currently a Bonaventure edition. I thought the physical quality as good as any of the originals I have seen. Can you fill me in on the quality issues of the Bonaventure ed..

Stan was talking about the binding, while my 1910 LU (as well as the 1950 ed's) are still going strong, I have seen 2 of the reprints fall apart in the last 5 years.

I think the problem is with the end papers, they are not on the thicker paper used in the older editions. My 1962 LU also has this problem...
