Living Water College of the Arts (Derwent, Alberta, Canada) presents our second Sacred Choral Program: a vibrant and rewarding musical experience for professionals and beginners alike.
Students will be steeped in Gregorian chant and Polyphony and become familiar with the rich liturgical tradition of church choral music through the works of the great composers such as Mozart, Vivaldi and Schubert. This resident program offers students private vocal lessons and opportunities for a variety of choral experiences. Advanced singers will study conducting techniques and perform solo portions of the repertoire.
Unique to Living Water, the choral program contains an academic component which complements the practical training and informs each singer’s understanding of music. Classes in the liberal arts of music will be held daily, emphasizing the power and objective beauty of music. Students will enjoy a strong and welcoming community, participate in morning and evening prayer, and have daily opportunity to attend Mass. Personal time in the rural beauty surrounding the college promises refreshment during this unique experience of music.
