Trifold Amen?
  • Hi all,

I'm looking for the original source of a simple "Amen" that I'm sure I've seen in multiple places. I just want to know where it originally came from. It starts out as the simple Amen that's in the Missal, the solemn G G-A Amen. It continues, though:

    G G-A
    A A-C
    C-B-A-G A

I'm almost positive I saw it in the "old" setting of the Epiphany Proclamation from the old Sacramentary Supplement, but I can't place it anywhere else. Is this ringing any bells out there? Thanks!

Is this the one that's published in Worship IV? I was wondering the same thing.

It appears to be a way of elaborating on the congregational Amen to an oration in the solemn tone.

Why don't you just write to GIA and ask them about it?
