I stumbled on this delightful video in recent correspondence with Bernard Guye, musical director of a few choral groups (including Octonote & Vox Animae) in the Neuchâtel area and artistic director for the Neuchâtel International Choral Festival. His wife, Catherine Guye starts things off:
Note. Octonote will perform my 6-part Ave verum corpus this year in four concerts throughout the Suisse Romande, and Vox Animae will likely perform my 12-part O magnum mysterium and perhaps also This Advent Moon in 2014.
Finally, has anyone ever participated in or seen a flashmob Gregorian Chant event? If not, maybe we should be doing it.
A flashmob Gregorian chant event was suggested to me this past Advent, but with my schola down to four voices (between health and family issues) we really weren't up to it. It does appear that several of the local malls would be open to it. Advent chants as a respite from the endless busyness of the pre-Christmas shopping season sounds so wonderful.
