    that is correct if you are making a jest or a commentary that you want to ensure that no one takes the wrong way, you should put it in purple font color.

    IIRC, it was our irrepressable FNJ's idea to utilize the purple for connotation's sake, 'cause
    Noel knows when we are joking
    He knows when we are nice
    He knows when we mean bad or good
    And we're good for goodness' sake!

    The use of purple text is to show the penance the poster is performing because they were not acting as a very serious and somber musician should.

    Blue is not a recognized font color on this forum. Even in posts pertaining to the BVM or Advent

    However to distinguish Advent posts from Lenten posts, sometimes the bluer shades of violet may be used :)

    TCJ - i agree, but it's sometimes a small price to pay for people not engaging in ridiculous arguments.

    I once said something about how good congregational singing would only be possible if we had "cantors up front waving their arms around like maniacs."

    The next three posts were long explanations of why cantors are not needed at Mass.
