Searching for Gregorian propers by Bible verse
  • Is there any way (or rather, what's the best way) to search for Gregorian propers by Bible verse? That would be a helpful tool for me at the radio station.

The Gregorian Missal has the Bible verse indicated for all propers as far as I know. Of course, that pertains specifically to the O.F. and uses the current numbering of psalms.

I assume Ryan means a Scriptural index to the Gregorian propers.

The Global Chant Database has a listing of chants verse by verse for each book of the Bible (though some books seem to be missing), along with references to modern chant books. It's not limited to mass propers, though.

Forum participant marajoy has made a list of Scriptural sources of the offertories and communions here.
