The so-called "Fortescue Missal" / Burns & Oates / Fortescue & Newdigate & Morison
  • Does anyone own a copy of the Missal that Fr. Adrian Fortescue helped to produce?

It was Latin & English. Is this what was called "The Layman's Missal" ?

I am told it was printed by Burns and Oates some years before 1923 I guess ?
  • I owned two copies of the reprint of the The Layman's Missal and Prayer Book, 2009 edition, until one of my kids lost them both. :( It's a Sunday and Holy Day Missal, so there are no propers for weekdays and lesser feasts. It fits well in the hand and is nicely printed. Some have quibbled about the translation of pro multis in the canon. The reprint has the advantage of being completely in conformity with Summorum Pontificum and even contains Pope Benedict XVI's Prayer for the Jews in the Liturgy of Good Friday.

We went through this same quibble with the RM3. Is this the same quibble in the Fortesque?
