Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required: The Director of Music and Liturgy must have a strong understanding of liturgical music, tradition and sacred scripture, and must also be familiar with recent Church publications regarding contemporary and classical liturgical music. Candidates should possess the following: a high degree of proficiency in the use of musical instruments, particularly the piano and organ, and should be vocally trained; organizational skills; ability to plan and prepare a budget; experience with ministry development; ability to utilize diocesan resources.
Minimum Qualifications: A solid understanding of Catholic Liturgy, preferably with a Bachelor’s Degree in Music, some formal liturgical education and previous or current work experience in liturgical music.
