The difference between those who have many posts and those who don't post much is that the former flood the nonsense threads while the latter make only one post and are done with it.

That said... I think I have three posts in this thread now...
  • Relatively new guy here. Everything is fine as is. Nothing ruins a forum faster than saddling it with well-intentioned tweaking.

Not really liking the post count showing. More fun to learn the personalities here.

  • Do we need...degrees...of thankfulness?
  • Yes.

Well, that about sums it up nicely. We can all close up shop and go home now.
Truly a curt summation, and with an ironic jest for a twist.
    Over and out.

only when you read my tombstone will you hear

'I Have Nothing More To Say'
  • Could we get credit for every draft that we write and then decide not to post to counter our....inability to pipe down?

Maybe we could have it show our fleishman kincaid reading level, also.

That doesn't prevent some people from speaking! Well, being dead would, but having nothing to say doesn't. Me included. :D

Hey Curt, what happened to "salvage" at your blog? Did you ban him, or did he just get bored and give up?

You got the wrong Curt, Scott_W. I really do need to change my name...

Maybe the blogger needs to change HIS name!
  • That is a wonderful "rule". And, yes, I should hope that nobody would think there are stupid questions here. I have avoided asking many things for fear of being looked down upon as someone who does not truly know sacred Catholic music, and that's a shame. I lurk a lot more than I post, that's for sure, and this forum has been an invaluable source of information for me. This forum can be very intimidating to those of us who do not come from huge parishes and have advanced music degrees. God bless to all.
  • Musicteacher56, you are not alone.

Suddenly I feel the urge to try and ask some legitimately stupid questions just to buck the trend. :D

I always heard, "There are no stupid questions, only stupid people."

I like to think of it as, "There are no stupid questions, only contexts in which the question seems stupid." Give the question a different context and it might seem smart.

Teacher: "Helium is a noble gas."
Little Johnny: "Is helium a noble gas?"
    Groan

    Teacher: "Noble gases are inert."
Little Molly: "Is helium a noble gas?"
Teacher: "Wow, Little Molly, how did you know?"
