Emitte Spiritum Tuum
  • I am hoping to get my hands on a choral piece called Emitte Spiritum tuum. I heard a recording of it on an album called Catholic Latin Classics (Richard Proulx and the Cathedral Singers). When I contacted GIA, they said that they do not publish this. Does anyone know where I can find the music for this piece? Thank you! ~Father Ochoa

It's available through SheetMusic Plus. Published by Mercury Music and distributed by Theodore Presser.

Sheet music for the 7-part SSATTBB version of Fr. Josef Schuetky's Emitte Spiritum heard on the Proulx CD can apparently be found on p. 387 of the December 1933 issue of Caecilia available from this website.

However, you are probably looking for a more manageable SATB rendition, like the one our choir has sung.
  • Thank you both for your responses. Indeed, I am looking for the simpler rendering of the piece. While SheetMusic plus requires me to buy 20 copies, I found it at Theodore Presser for a lot less.

I guess there's a reason for the "Plus" at SheetMusic Plus! :)
