Here are 5 different versions of the "Ubi Caritas" for Holy Thursday. It will be noted that the Simple English Propers and Simple English Psalm Tones versions use the English translation found in Roman Missal, 3rd Edition.
What is the proper way to conclude ubi caritas? Does it end with secula saeculorum? or is the antiphon repeated a final time? Is an Amen traditionally added? There isn't one indicated in the Graduale, but I've seen so many variants on this hymn I'm not sure which way is proper.
The current way to sing it is to end with secula per infinita sæculorum. So, the antiphon is not repeated.
The Amen is included in the Missale Romanum, but not in the Graduale Romanum or Graduale Simplex. So, when the chant is sung, I suppose you are supposed to skip the Amen.
