I just got a call to do a Memorial Mass (to include many non-Catholics). The unexpected part is that I have carte blanche to choose music to suit two professional cantors S B plus organist/baritone; evidently we're acquiring a reputation at St David's! Just off the top of my head I expect we might do Fauré's Pie Jesu and Sanctus (singers are technically "people" too) and solo chants at communion and perhaps the gradual. BWV 156 crosses my mind too... But am I missing some wonderful 17c. SB+bc Requiem or another obvious bit of repertoire for SBB?

I now see that Schütz' Kleine geistlische Konzerte II includes an apt verse from "Christe qui lux es et dies": Wann unsre Augen/Quando se claudunt.
